Education Impact Grant (EIG)
The Education Impact Grant provides individual fellows with funding for their travel and lodging so that they may actively contribute to and gain from educational and network-building activities sponsored or co-sponsored by the Melton Foundation.
The MF sponsored or co-sponsored activities that fall under the EIG grant travel and lodging apply are:
* The Symposium (Senior Fellows).
* Junior and Senior Fellow Orientations (selected Senior Fellows trainers).
* MF-sponsored or co-sponsored seminars, workshops, career development events, campus outreach events, or other content-related activities.
* MF gatherings or planning meetings (provided the applicant has a substantive and active role in planning, implementation, and execution of meeting outcomes).
This grant is only for travel and lodging support related to MF-sponsored events; see the MCDG for individual fellow support related to external activities.
Award Criteria and Requirements
In order to successfully apply to the EIG, the grantee has to meet the following criteria:
1. Contribute to strengthening the inter-cultural and global competencies of members of the MF, including the grantee him or herself.
The grantee must fulfill at least one, preferably more, of the following requirements:
* Have an active role in designing and preparing the content and/or training of the activity.
* Direct responsibilities for teaching, facilitation, mentoring, and/or logistical support of a component of the activity.
* Acquire new knowledge or develop new competencies related to inter-cultural or global issues.
2. Contribute to strengthening the inter-cultural bonding within the MF network.
The grantee must fulfill the following requirement:
* Show that his or her contributions are being carried out in collaboration with and/or directed at members of at least two of the MF cultures.
3. Administrative Criteria and Requirements.
The grantee must carefully review the MF Grant Policy prior to completing their application to this grant. All Applications to this grant must adhere to the MF Grant Policy which governs all grants.

* Amounts of grant: benchmark for travel minus 10% of travel expenses
