Workgroup Presentations

We had the all the JF's presenting the work they had done as part of the different workgroups that they were part of prior coming to the symposium. The focus of the workgroups now is centred on the theme of the symposium. Given that the theme of this symposium is Go Green, all of the workgroups were focused on themes relating to Environment and Climate Change. They covered themes ranging from consumption habits, energy spending, relation between ecology and psychology, effects of climate change on health, disasters and even on how to build a green home. One of the six workgroups that presented their topic was the ConCon group Aka the conservation and the consumption work group. These guys presented the work they had been doing regarding how our consumption lifestyles affect the way we go green. They were creative during their presentation using a Quiz show format. They also showed us how quickly we can fold old plastic bags to reuse them better. Apparently its so quick that you can do it by the time it takes to slow-ride a bicycle for 15 feet :) You can see them testing that concept here:

The other interesting thing was that the Senior Fellows were aked to provide feedback on the presentations immediately. This we did using our laptops on an online survey link. So the aim is to help the JF's hone their presentation and intercultural collaboration skills by giving the right kind of feedback. I thought its a good idea because the presentation is fresh in your mind and you can attempt to give quality feedback.Well giving out advice is the easier part :)The hard part was doing all the presentations and the deliverables. All the presentations did set us thinking and on the road to greenness !
