Group Game...for the Earth

I was interested to read the title and was wondering what the game would be all about.Meng Jiayuan , SF ZU (more popularly known as Jerry) was the one who prepared this game for us. As expected it  was a quite interactive and informative as well.

We were divided into groups and were told to come up with a environmental issue ,a personal soluion to solve it and entrepreneurial or commercial solution.TaNieshia was the judge for the event and was to decide which group's "issue" and which group's "solution" was to be accepted and rewarded with points(15 points for "issue" and 10 ponts for a "solution") For example, one of the issues was the extenive use of disposable mugs in Bars, Coffee Joins.Some of the suggestions given to combat this was - ensurng everything is recyclable, making the items non-disposable(hard plastic or glass) and having eficient ways to store and clean them.There were other creative (what some may interpret as weird:)) suggestions like having rum, whisky fountains like water fountans in Bars cause then we wouldnt need mugs!

Other valid issues and solutions touched upon were reducing energy consumption at homes by turning of lights when not in use, having a "green switch" in the room to turn of all the appliances in a single touch,using power saving settings in appliances,etc.

Some of the suggstions were bordering on the weird but got us thinking out of the box as to what we could do to combat a dangerously relevant issue.The personal solutions were quite practical and I hope is followed by everyone.Jerry will send across the detailed list of issues and solutions touched upon and I suggest you to go through it when it is made available.

And ofcourse there was the winning team which got nice looking postcards as gifts:).
